Sean Astin (rođen 25. februara 1971.) je američki filmski glumac, režiser i producent najpoznatiji po ulozi Samwisea Gamgeeja u filmskoj trilogiji Gospodar prstenova.
Rodio se kao dete poznate glumice Patty Duke i lasvegaskog izdavača Michaela Tella, sa kojim mu je majka u to vreme bila nakratko udata. Prezime je dobio po Johnu Astinu za koga mu se majka udala nedugo nakon poništenja braka s Tellom.
Astin se diplomirao engleski jezik i istoriju na UCLA, a s glumom se počeo baviti još kao dete, imajući glumački debi u TV-filmu Please Don't Hit Me, Mom gde je nastupao zajedno s majkom. Prvu filmsku ulogu je imao sa 14 godina u filmu Goonies. Nakon niza sporednih uloga je zajedno sa svojom suprugom Christine Harrell (sa kojom ima tri deteta) 1994. imao i rediteljski debi s kratkim filmom Kangaroo Court, koji je nominovan za Oscara.
Za vreme snimanja Gospodara prstenova je režirao kratki film The Long and Short of It. Svoja iskustva sa snimanja (i karijere uopšteno) je opisao u knjizi memoara There and Back Again.
